A power chord has only two notes: the root and the fifth, often with the root an octave higher as well. It’s neither major nor minor and sounds especially strong on an electric guitar with distortion.
The shape is movable: index finger on the low E or A string, ring and little finger two frets higher on the next two strings. Only strum those three strings and lightly mute the others.
