D tuning: The strings are tuned to A D F# B. All strings tuned a whole step higher and tighter (A D F# B): a bright sound like old ukuleles – better retune with an adult. Same finger shape, different chord name.

In the tuner, choose D tuning under “Other tuning …”. The tuner, chord charts, songs and blues then follow this tuning until you go back to standard tuning.
